could someone explain why people are so happy that they nerfed monks? I've been playing the game since beta. pvp bores me, i've completed the PVE multiple times, i help guildies all the time. When i'm alone, i really, really enjoy farming. perfecting a build hat lets me kill 50+ things is really entertaining.

yes, thats right. i enjoy playing my monk as a farmer. you all gloat and boats your joy at taking the only remaining part of this game i like.

Well, I have to say, I am dissappointed that I, once again, can't make money. I wish it wasnt true, but thats the way it is. Thanks for nerfing Healing Seed and de-nerfing distracting shot (because thats just what we need). I am really disappointed with some of these changes--especially the monk ones, because they are so overpowered, especially smiters--but I like that they made some non-used skills like dbs better. Now Im going to make a hammer warrior and actually be useful in kd! Ty for that, and the nerfs. Those are always great.

well they are mostly happy because they are immature little chilren who are jealous of others.

it amazes me how the OP actually gets joy out of taking away others fun.

just like a griefer.

i wanted to avoid calling them a griefer, but i do feel like a victim. I don't consider farming an exploitation, or a cheat, or a hack, i consider the time it takes to learn and get accustomed to the requirements far beyond that.

I once saw a post quoting (i think gaile?) that said something along the lines of Anet not wanting to disrupt farmers, only botters.

I am not a botter, and i have been disrupted. why?

Those of us that play a lot of monk primaries used prot-bond for things other than the solo build. I used it on dumb-a**ed tanks (which, using some of your leaps of logic in the various solo monk threads, I'm sure you resemble in-game) that dont have a clue and cause myself as prime healer/protector to spend way too much mana keeping them standing. I'd use Prot-Bond and essence bond on them to keep from having to heal their sorry butts at the expense of the rest of the group. Even at -2 energy, with essence and a blessed sig, I could keep up with the energy drain and keep the team alive. Now, protective bond is pretty useless, and will now become a never used skill thanks to you and your minions. Thanks for that.

So to summerize, you won. Your l337. Now please crawl back under whatever rock you came from and dream about that missed prom or something.

I agree with this guy! Red Sonya is probably a "wanna-be-farmer" that never made it! He prob woke up one day all pissed and ish just cuz he couldnt farm right so he just decided to post a note here, rub what ANET did to all our fellow U/W soloer's noses!

Let this be a lesson to us Monks who solo U/W! I know how u feel guys, I know that we should "share" what we learned and discovered to others. I know that sharing the idea on how to make "quick money" by farming makes us happy because we think that EVERYONE deserves to have a chance to experience how good it feels to farm and have all the cash u need whenever u need it. But look at what happened now.....we have ANET nerfing the hell out of us and we also have this Red Sonya and other peeps like him to rub it in our noses.....

My only selfish suggestion to u my fellow monks, is that WHEN (notice i said WHEN instead of IF?) we find a way around out of this nerf, I suggest we keep it to ourselves this time. I know that IT IS SELFISH but it might be the only way to AVOID ANET and peeps like Red Sonya. Lets just find a diff way to help others....

And thats all I have to say about that.

I just want to second what Koroh mentioned, which is that it would be great for everyone to take a deep breath and work with these changes some and -then- post what works or doesn't work about them. Just eyeballing them they look like a pretty well balanced set of changes to me, I didn't see anything jump out and scream 'Exploit me!' or 'Hi, I've just been nerfed into uselessness!'.

To the people who've had their highly-tuned builds destabilized, I do sympathize with you. It hurts when you've spent a lot of time and effort to perfect something only to have someone come along and mess it up. But let me say two things: first, the more extreme you are when it comes to min/maxxing your characters, the more likely it is that you'll experience a big disruption when an implementor makes skill/gameplay changes that effect those characters. Second, when such a change comes along be willing to accept it if it's a -good- change (i.e. makes sense) even if it does require you to rework one or more of your custom builds.

And for the ones who have been asking for these changes, be gracious in victory, no need to rub salt into the wounds of the ones that were hurt by them.

I've never seen so many people take their anger out on ONE PERSON. It's ONE person, yet, because you lost your solo build, you feel the need to rub it in ONE person's face. Have you thought about it? You say the solo builds DON'T screw the economy? It's all economics....more farmers=gold becomes less valuable. Soo remember seeing things like 100k +20 ectos for something you were once able to see for around 10k at tops? Oh yeah, right it doesn't screw the economy, not at all.

And for people complaining how rangers are now crappy? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU ON? Just cos now NR can't take out a whole heap of builds...*gasp* 0H N035!!!1 you might actually have to THINK of (God forbid) a NEW, ORIGINAL build. Personally, i have been successful with things like incendiary arrows, melandru's arrows...now spirit spammers are useless, you have to think outside oath shot. CHANGE your elite. CHANGE your way of thinking. And if you don't want it nerfed, then don't post it to everyone else and say: ZOMGF UB3R 1337 B1L|)!!!11

P.S. crippling shot was nerfed beyond nerfing by the way. That was uncalled for, not many people used it, and now, no-one will.

P.S.S. Can't remember who posted that concussion shot's energy should be taken down, the ability to absolutely screw over any spellcaster for over 15 seconds? @5 energy is worth it, but you are forgetting expertise. It reduces it down passt 15 energy, so just pour 10+ points into it, and it's a VERY useful skill.
